STEPHANIE Gilmore has extended her lead at the top of the women’s surfing rankings after finishing second at the US Open of Surfing in California.
The six-time world champion was hoping to clinch her fourth win of the season but American Courtney Conlogue spoiled the party, taking out the final at Huntington Beach on Monday morning.
Gilmore was first out of the gates but only scored a 3.83 on the opening wave.
