Gilmore set for do-or-die battle in the Roxy Pro

STEPH GILMORE has suffered a defeated in round three of the Roxy Pro in France.

It means she’ll have to battle it out in the elimination heats to remain in the competition.

The Coolangatta local lined up against America’s Courtney Conlogue and South African Bianca Buitendag in round three of the competition overnight.


The champion was unable to get the scores needed to advance, falling to third in the heat on just 11 points.

She’ll now face off against Lakey Peterson in round four in a bid to grab a spot in the quarter finals.

It was a more successful run for fellow Australian Sally Fitzgibbons.

The Championship leader sailing through to the quarters with a round 3 heat score of 16.56, forcing fellow Aussie Dimity Stoyle and France’s Johanne Defay to round four.

Carissa Moorse, Courtney Conlogue and Malia Manuel have also secured their spots in the quarters.

The event is currently on standby, with a call on whether to resume the women’s event to be made this afternoon our time.

There’ll also be a call as to whether to kick off the men’s Quiksilver Pro, running at the same location.
