Investigations are underway after a young girl was assaulted by a man in Boonah.

Police say around 3.30pm on June 16, a 12-year-old girl was walking along a designated walking track between Boonah Rathdowney Road and Mount French Road when a man stepped out from the bush and grabbed her arm.

Luckily, the young girl managed to break free and run away.

Police are now on the hunt for a man fitting the description in the comfit image above.

Anyone who may be able to help in identifying him are urged to contact police immediately.
