A 13-YEAR-OLD girl has been left traumatised after she was allegedly dragged from her bed at knifepoint and sexually assaulted by a man known to her in regional NSW.
The terrifying attack took place at a home in West Tamworth during the early hours of Sunday morning.
It’s alleged a man known to the girl forced his way into her bedroom and threatened her with a knife before dragging her into another room and violently sexually assaulting her.

Police were called to the address around 8am and found the young girl in a highly distressed state.
She was assessed by paramedics before being taken to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital for treatment.
Police said the young victim has also been offered counselling.
The house where the attack allegedly took place was declared a crime scene and examined by forensic police.
Shortly after 1pm, detectives from the state’s Child Abuse Squad arrested a 27-year-old man at a house nearby.
He was taken to Tamworth Police Station and formally charged with “aggravated sexual assault-threat to inflict actual bodily harm with a weapon”.
The man was refused bail and due to front Tamworth Local Court today.
The Child Abuse Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate crimes against children, including sexual assault, physical abuse and serious cases of neglect.
