Girl, 13, snatched off NSW street and repeatedly sexually assaulted

A man who allegedly snatched a 13-year-old girl off a Sydney street at knife-point and repeatedly sexually assaulted her has been arrested at gunpoint following a dramatic police pursuit.

It’s alleged the man, who police allege was armed with a knife, kidnapped the young girl in Parramatta around 8.30am on Friday.

The man then allegedly sexually assaulted her at various locations around Sydney’s south-west.


Investigators said the man had been on the run from police after allegedly sexually assaulting and robbing a 22-year-old woman at gunpoint in a motel room on Park Street at around 6am last Sunday, 19 June.

After being alert to the latest incident, detectives from the Sex Crimes Squad stepped up their efforts to locate the man.

Just after 11.30am on Saturday, police say they attempted to stop a suspicious silver Ford sedan on Bondi Road in Bondi, however the driver allegedly failed to stop.

Police pursued the vehicle which, a short time later, travelling through a park and crashed into a parked car on Old South Head Road.

The driver, a 26-year-old man, was arrested at gunpoint and taken to Waverley Police Station.

He was then transported to St Vincent’s Hospital under police guard for treatment.

After being released, the man was returned to Waverley Police Station and charged with a long list of serious offences, including:

  • robbery whilst armed;
  • two counts of aggravated sexual assault;
  • aggravated indecent assault;
  • detain for advantage;
  • assault with act of indecency;
  • kidnapping;
  • four counts of indecent assault person under 16 years of age;
  • twelve counts of aggravated sexual assault person under 16 years of age;
  • act of indecency person under 16 years of age;
  • two counts of common assault;
  • police pursuit; and
  • two counts of disqualified driver and resist officer.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Parramatta Local Court today.
