Girl, 15, hit and killed by out-of-control car
A 15-YEAR-OLD girl has died after she and a friend were mowed down by an out-of-control car in Adelaide’s south.
It happened on Morphett Road at Glengowrie just before 10pm on Saturday, police said.
It’s understood a white Lamborghini mounted the kerb at speed and struck two teenage girls standing on the footpath before smashing into a restaurant.
The girls were treated by paramedics but sadly, despite their best efforts, one of them – a 15-year-old from Seaview Downs – could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second girl from Richmond, also 15, was rushed to the Flinders Medical Centre in a serious condition.
The driver of the Lamborghini – a 37-year-old man from Elizabeth North – was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with causing death and injury by dangerous driving.
He was released on bail and is due to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on July 31.
