Girl dies after being trampled by a horse in NSW

A girl has died after being trampled by a horse in New South Wales.

The 12-year-old was leading a horse on a property on Pitt Town Road in Hawkesbury at 5:30pm on Sunday when it is believed the horse became spooked and trampled her.

Paramedics found the girl with serious head, chest and abdominal injuries.


She was treated at the scene then taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital by the Ambulance Rescue helicopter where she died about 6.45pm.

Police from Hawkesbury Local Area Command attended and are investigating the incident.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
