Girl forced to run from car in terrifying child approach

Police are appealing for witnesses after a girl was approached at Kirrawee.

About 11am Tuesday 8 September 2015, a 15-year-old girl was walking on Wanganui Road, when she heard a car approach her from behind.

The dark red seven-seater people mover drove past her, completed a u-turn, crossed onto the wrong side of the road and stopped beside her.

The driver, a man, spoke to the girl. She became afraid and ran from the location.

The girl called her mother who contacted the girl’s school and police.

Officers from Sutherland Local Area Command attended the girl’s home and commenced an investigation.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that may assist with their inquiries to contact Crime Stoppers.

The man was described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 50 and 60, of large build and wearing black sunglasses.

The vehicle was further described to have black and yellow registration plates.
