Girl seeks safety of strangers home after man tries coaxing her into his car

A YOUNG girl has made a frightening dash to a strangers house after a man allegedly tried getting her into his car in Sydney’s inner-west yesterday.

Police said the 13-year-old girl was at the intersection of Patterson Street and McNamara Avenue at Concord when a man in a light blue utility pulled up next to her.

Officers have been told the man asked the girl if she wanted a lift, and when she ignored him and started to walk away, he allegedly asked her a second time.

The girl then ran to the front door of a nearby home as the man, described as being aged in his 20s and Mediterranean/Middle Eastern in appearance, continued to call out to her.

He was last seen driving away north on McNamara Avenue.

Police are wanting to speak with the man who is further described as having olive skin with thick eyebrows, being unshaved, with chipped front teeth and wearing a dark blue hooded jumper and black sunglasses.

His vehicle was described as a light blue coloured two door utility, lowered, with scratchy paint and silver rims.
