Girls injured after falling out of ferris wheel carriage in NSW

UPDATE: INVESTIGATIONS will continue this morning after three teenage girls were injured, one of them seriously, when they fell out of a carriage on ferris wheel at Liverpool in Sydney’s south-west.

The accident happened at an event in a suburban park off Memorial Avenue shortly after 5pm AEDT on Sunday.

The young girls, whose exact ages remain unknown, were reportedly seen moving around in the carriage moments before falling out and plunging five metres to the ground below.

All three were rushed to Liverpool Hospital with multiple fractures; two of them are said to be in a stable condition with arm and rib injuries, while the third is treated for serious pelvic and arm breaks.

Two of the teenagers remain in hospital this morning.

Earlier reports suggesting the ferris wheel may have toppled over have since been dismissed.
