Give a cat or dog a fur-ever home at the ‘Big Adopt Out’ this weekend

If you’ve been thinking about introducing a cute little furry friend to your family, now is the purrrfect time to do it!

The Big Adopt Out is returning for another year this Saturday September 15, with over 250 cats, dogs, puppies and kittens looking to find their furever homes.

Happening from 9am to 2pm at the Brisbane Showgrounds, there will be food stalls, entertainment, vet advice and even a dog minding area so you can bring your own pooch along to join in on all the fun too!

“Paws and Relax will take care of your pooch while you browse for another canine companion. Then you can all have a meet and greet together to see if they are a match,” event organisers say.

There will be animals of all ages, shapes, sizes and breeds available to adopt on the day, with adoption fees starting from just $49 for RSPCA adult cats and dogs who have been patiently waiting the longest to find their new family.

“This will be the largest variety of dogs and cats in one place at one time,” RSPCA Queensland spokesperson Michael Beatty said.

“At the Big Adopt Out you’ll get the very best information from people who understand the breeds and their needs. So if you’re thinking about adopting a new pet then this is the place to start.”
