The goat was discovered in Currumbin Valley with a garbage bag tied around its head and its mouth and nostrils covered in duct tape.

It was found on Tomewin Mountain Rd last week near where parents collect kids near a primary school.

The RSPCA says the goat would have suffered an agonising death.

It’s believed the animal was dumped there on Tuesday or Wednesday.

The RSPCA is not sure who owns the goat as it had no ear tags and wasn’t microchipped.

Officers are now trying to find the people responsible for the cruelty.

They’re also appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area last week to come forward.
