Gold Coast Airport set to welcome first inbound flight from Wuhan, China

Locals will able to fly direct China from Gold Coast Airport starting tomorrow.

Jetstar will now be offering direct flights to Wuhan and back, with the first official flight touching down on the glitter strip tomorrow morning.

More than 300 passengers will be on board the inaugural flight which is due to land around 7:45am on Wednesday.

Gold Coast Airport Chief Operating Officer David Collins will be joined by key aviation, tourism, and government VIP’s to welcome the passengers.

There will also be a massive event at the Gold Coast Airport to celebrate the new route, with a water cannon salute planned for the aircraft as well as characters from Movie World and Dreamworld and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary wildlife to greet passengers.
