Gold Coast amongst worst for vaccinating aged care workers

It’s been revealed that the Gold Coast is one of the worst areas in Queensland when it comes to the vaccination of aged care workers.

Health Department data, published by Newscorp, shows that some centres in Queensland have less than 10 per cent of their staff vaccinated.

That’s despite mandatory rules coming into effect in just a matter of weeks.

The Gold Coast, Cairns and the Sunshine Coast have the worst rates of vaccinated staff, and now risking losing their staff if they don’t meet the deadline.

The full data will be released today, which will show exactly how all facilities across the country are travelling.

The deadline for staff to have either had their jabs or lose their jobs is September 17.
