Gold Coast and Beenleigh line trains resume after bridge strike

UPDATE @ 1.15PM | Gold Coast and Beenleigh line trains have resumed in both directions following an earlier bridge strike.

A vehicle is understood to have struck a rail bridge at Rocklea Station around 12.30pm, bringing services to a halt.

Translink has since confirmed that trains have now resumed between Yeerongpilly and Coopers Plains stations.

Delays of up to 15 minutes can still be expected.

EARLIER @ 12.30PM |  TRAINS on the Gold Coast and Beenleigh lines have been suspended after a motor vehicle hit a rail bridge.

The vehicle is understood to have struck the bridge at Rocklea Station around 12.30pm.

Translinks says trains are suspended in both directions between Yeerongpilly and Coopers Plains stations as a result of the crash.

Commuters are being warned they can expect delays of up to 30 minutes.
