Gold Coast beach patrol tower goes missing

Currumbin’s surf lifesaving patrol tower has gone missing, in the lead-up to the September school holidays.

The bright yellow portable tower disappeared from Currumbin Beach about a week ago.

It was given to the Currumbin Vikings Surf Club by Surf Life Saving Queensland and is used to give volunteer lifesavers a birds eye view of the busy strip of beach.

Club officials told the Courier Mail’s Glitter Strip Bare, they thought the theft may have been a student prank, but if they weren’t able to track it down alone they would call the police.
