As the temperature begins to heat up, Gold Coast police are warning people to remain wary of their belongings whilst visiting beaches and parks this Summer.
Beaches across the coast attract thousands of tourists per year as they come to enjoy the white sand and warm ocean water – sadly, this also attracts thieves.
“As we all know, opportunistic thieves gravitate themselves to areas of activity, where unbeknownst to them, beach-goers can become the victims of theft while they enjoy their day in the sun,” police said.

“Police would like remind members of the public to ensure their belongings and valuables remain secure, and if possible, in sight.”
“During the busy summer months please also adhere to traffic and parking laws to ensure that everyone can enter, stay and leave the beach areas in a safe and easy manner.”
