Gold Coast bodyboarder left with suspected spinal injuries after surf accident
A TEENAGE bodyboader has been rushed to hospital with suspected spinal injuries after he was reportedly dumped by a wave on the Gold Coast this morning.
Paramedics were called to popular Snapper Rocks beach just before midday with reports a teenage male had been injured in the surf.
It’s understood he was on a boogie board riding a wave about 11.45am.
He has been transported stable Tweed Heads Hospital.
It comes after a man had to be airlifted from South Stradbroke Island yesterday after he’d reportedly jumped into the water from a tree and hit his head just before 3pm.
It’s understood CPR was administered for up to 30 minutes before he was winched into a helicopter and flown to hospital in a critical condition with head and neck injuries.
