Gold Coast border police to pause for remembrance ceremony

Motorists planning on crossing the border this morning are being warned of slight delays, as officers pause to remember their fallen comrades.

Today is the National Police Remembrance Day, where police officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice are remembered for their service.

All officers at the border checkpoints will participate in a brief pause at 10.30am this morning.

Motorists are being warned of slight delays around this time.

A Queensland Police spokesperson has assured it will only take a couple of minutes, with police extremely conscious to not delay those trying to get into Queensland.

It comes after the Premier, Police Minister and Police Commissioner lit candles at a vigil last night in Brisbane.
