Gold Coast boy seriously injured in car and bike crash

A young boy is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car while riding his bike on the Gold Coast.

The accident happened along Ross Street in Benowa around 6pm on Friday.

Queensland Ambulance said paramedics, including critical care and the High Acuity Response Unit, treated a “pre-teen male” for head an limb injuries.


He was taken to the Gold Coast University in a serious condition.

The woman driving the car, who is believed to be aged in her 20s, was also checked over by paramedics but declined transport to hospital.
