Gold Coast bus driver left bloodied and bruised after sickening attack

A MAN has been charged over the alleged attack of a bus driver on the Gold Coast.

The violent incident is understood to have happened on Hooker Boulevard in Broadbeach just before 8pm on Sunday night.

“It will be alleged a bus driver was punched three times to the face after a pedestrian approached the bus driver’s window and started to yell at him,” Qld police said.


The 54-year-old bus driver was treated at the scene by paramedics after he was left with a bloodied nose as well as bruising to his head and eye area.

Following investigations, police charged a 22-year-old Mermaid Beach man with assault occasioning bodily harm this morning.

He’s due to face Southport Magistrates Court on August 7.
