A Gold Coast businessman has put up his hand to run for the next Local Government election due in March 2016.
Robina/Varsity Lakes community and business identity, Nic Rone, will run for Division 11.
He said his vision for the precinct will boost jobs, improve transport infrastructure and see the precinct evolve into one of the country’s best residential and business centres.

Mr Rone owns and runs three local travel industry companies and has been actively working with the community in the Robina/Varsity area for more than 10 years in various roles.
His community positions have included Chamber of Commerce President, Varsity Lakes Community Limited Chairman, Community Bank Chairman, Varsity Lakes Sports House General Manager.
More recently he was President of the Robina Business Alliance, but stepped down from this position so he could run for Council.
Councillor Jan Grew currently represents Division 11.
Outspoken Division Six Councillor Dawn Crichlow said she would run for a ninth term. Former City Mayor and Division Seven representative Lex Bell remains undecided.
