Motor-homes destroyed after Gold Coast car yard goes up in flames

UPDATE @ 8.00am: INVESTIGATIONS are underway after a large blaze destroyed a number of motor-homes parked in a car yard at Arundel early this morning.

A witness spotted the massive inferno at the business on Brisbane Road just after 4.00am and contacted emergency services.

Upon arrival, fire crews found 12 vehicles fully engulfed in flames.

Olsen Avenue was closed in both directions between Brisbane and Blanchard roads, however has since reopened.

Luckily, no one was injured and the fire has since been extinguished.

EARLIER @ 4.45am: Emergency crews have rushed to a massive fire at a car yard in Arundel on Tuesday morning.

A Queensland Police spokesperson confirmed a number of cars and camper-vans went up in flames just before 4.30am.

Officers are currently on scene at the business at the intersection of Brisbane Road and Olsen Ave, working to direct traffic.

It’s understood the significance of the blaze is causing issues to traffic.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area if possible.
