Gold Coast chemist targeted in early morning smash and grab

Thieves are on the run following an early morning break-in at a chemist in Burleigh Waters.

Two people allegedly broke into the Varsity Chempro Chemist at the Burleigh Homespace shopping centre just before 4.30am on Monday.

A Queensland Police spokesperson told myGC the brazen duo smashed the front glass doors to gain entry to the shop.


Once inside, they were able to steal a quantity of property before fleeing the scene in a “dark hatchback type” vehicle.

Detectives are now investigating and are reviewing CCTV footage.
