Gold Coast conman accused of fleecing millions through sport betting scam

Notorious Gold Coast conman Peter Foster has now been formally charged with over a dozen fraud offences.

The 57-year-old was extradited from Queensland to New South Wales yesterday, after his dramatic arrest in Port Douglas on Thursday last week.

He’s accused of defrauding a man in Hong Kong of nearly $2 million through an online sport betting scam.


NSW Police have charged him with five counts of publish false misleading material to obtain advantage, ten counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime with intent to conceal.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Central Local Court today.
