Gold Coast cops investigating spate of overnight incidents
Police have been kept busy overnight, with investigations now underway into a suspicious car fire and also an abandoned car crash on the Gold Coast.
A black Mercedes was set alight in Molendinar around 11.30pm last night.
It happened on Enterprise Street, with fire crews on scene working to contain the blaze.
A police investigation is now underway, with the fire being treated as suspicious.
Meanwhile, a car crashed in Robina in the early hours of this morning – but nobody was found inside.
The vehicle was found smashed along Laver Drive around 3.30am, with the occupants seemingly fleeing the scene.
A Queensland Police spokesperson says the vehicle has not been reported as stolen, with a search now underway into the whereabouts of its owner.
