Dozens of people have gathered at Gold Coast Council Chambers this morning, in a Covid-related protest.
Up to 200 people gathered out the front of Chambers around 9.00 am, forcing Council staff to lock the building.
The protest was largely about mandatory vaccinations and restrictions with the group chanting “freedom.”

The gathering came as Council prepared to hold its usual monthly meeting, beginning at 10.00 am.
Due to the protest, the public and the media were not able to watch the meeting in person.
At one stage the group went silent before turning their backs towards Council chambers.
Police were on the scene, barricading off access from Bundall Rd while monitoring the situation very closely.
However, there was no trouble reported.
The Gold Coast was one of dozens of Councils targeted across Australia by protestors.
State Parliament in Queensland was also the focus of protestors with the building forced into lockdown.
