A Gold Coast couple has become almost $5 million richer, but they nearly hung up on the person delivering them the ‘dream come true’ news.
They’ve taken home the Set for Life division one prize of $4.8 over the weekend, but admit they thought it was just friends pranking them.
An official from The Lott called to tell them the exciting news this morning, here’s how the conversation went down.

“Is this real? Are you actually a real person?” the winning woman laughed.
“Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! “This is such good news! “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Holy moly!
“All of our dreams can come true now. This is incredible. It’s a dream come true!
“I am always pretty lucky with lottery or raffle tickets, so I always thought I would win something big one day. But I always imagined the prize would be $80,000, not $4.8 million!
“I need to get my husband. Can you repeat this news to him?”
“Holy sh**! Are you sure you’re not pranking us?” the happy husband added.
“You don’t sound like any of my mates, so this must be true. Otherwise, I’d be hanging up the phone.
“There’s no way we’re going to work today now. We are going to go out and celebrate. I think we will be a few kilos heavier after today!”
They take home the division one prize of $4.8 million paid in instalments of $20,000 a month for 20 years.
They’ve told The Lott they plan to spend the money holidaying, retiring, and sharing the winnings with their family.
