Gold Coast echidna thief in court on drugs charges

ONE of the men accused of stealing Piggie the echidna from Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary last month has appeared in court on drugs charges.

Tyson Paul Bothur faced the Southport Magistrates Court this morning charged with two counts of possessing a dangerous
drug and one count of possessing related utensils.

The 20-year-old was granted bail and the hearing was adjourned until September 29.

Bothur was previously charged with animal cruelty.
