CANCELLED: 2020 Lunar New Year celebrations at Gold Coast Chinatown
Message from City of Gold Coast:
Unfortunately we’ve had to cancel the Lunar New Year Celebrations event scheduled to take place in Southport. While we had hoped to proceed, a large number of vendors have pulled out meaning we are unable to go ahead with the event. Chinatown, is however, still open for business so please get out and support our Chinese community in anyway you can.
Event information:
Join us on Saturday 1 February from 4pm to 9pm at Gold Coast Chinatown for this free event.
Bring in the Year of the Rat in Gold Coast Chinatown with:
- delicious Asian street food
- live music
- cultural entertainment
- pop up laneway bar
- children’s activities
- outdoor movie screening of Ratatouille at 7pm.
Getting to the event is easy. Ride your bike and or catch the G: Link direct to Southport station. Alternatively, parking is available at:
Mal Burke carpark – corner Hinze and Davenport Streets
Athol Patterson carpark – near Southport Library
Carey Park carpark – Marine Parade, Southport.
Bottled water will not be sold to help reduce the amount of waste produced at the event – instead, free water refills will be available so don’t forget to bring your own water bottle.
Everyone is invited, so come along with your family and friends to help celebrate the Gold Coast’s largest Lunar New Year Celebration.
