Active & Healthy Outdoor Gym Workout
Learn how to correctly use outdoor fitness equipment and schedule workouts in these introductory strength sessions conducted by a qualified fitness professional. Each week you will be taken through a full body workout utilising the outdoor gym equipment at the Outdoor Fitness Gym at Varsity Central Park. You’ll learn how to safely and effectively use the various devices.
This program runs in 6-week blocks with two programs on offer:
- First block runs 17 August to 21 September
- Second block runs 9 November to 14 December
Regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do to improve your overall wellbeing. Not only does it reduce the risk of many chronic diseases it alleviates depression and anxiety and can even boost mental alertness. So what is not to love? It’s time to make physical activity a part of your everyday life.
Remember to check with your doctor before starting any exercise program if you have a history of high blood pressure, heart trouble, diabetes or any other medical issues.
The City’s Active & Healthy Program is designed to encourage our community to be an active one. The program offers hundreds of diverse, free or low-cost and accessible recreational opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. There is an activity to suit everyone.
