Giving our Homeless Youth A Chance Fundraising Lunch
As many as 400 homeless young people aged from as young as 12 on the Gold Coast have no place to call home.
We have increasing numbers of what is becoming known as the ‘Invisible Homeless’. These young people, in many cases through no fault of their own, eithersleep in rough and dangerous areas including parks and cars or are couch-surfing with friends, relatives or in some cases complete strangers until they are forced to move on.
Parkwood Rotary’s mission to help and support our youth is holding a fundraising lunch and invite you to help us make a difference to these young lives.
The event is to be held on Sunday 23 June at 12 noon at the Arundel Hills Country Club, Arundel for a 2-course lunch with a free drink on arrival with tea and coffee supplied. A cashbar is provided.
Popular singer and songwriter Emma Whines as heard on Triple J has generously volunteered to provide entertainment throughout the afternoon with guest speakers from
Frontline Youth Workers.
The cost is $60 per person with 100% of money raised donated to the Gold Coast Youth Service who provide frontline services to homeless and vulnerable young people.
