Men Of Business (MOB) Academy 24-Hour Paddle Fundraiser
The 24-hour Capri Paddle is an annual event held to raise money for Men of Business Academy.
The Men of Business (MOB) Academy is an independent special assistance secondary school specifically designed to empower young men with the skills, knowledge and confidence to be happy, healthy and successful in life beyond school.
Times might be tough but that hasn’t stopped local Gold Coast businesses and some of the city’s leading sportspeople from supporting the Men Of Business (MOB) Academy Capri on Via Roma 24-Hour fundraiser starting Thursday 14 October at 10.00am.
The 24-hour event has attracted an outstanding line-up of paddlers with local Olympian gold medallist and multiple world-champion canoeist, Ken Wallace OAM, Tokyo 2020 Olympics canoeist, Tom Green and legendary Gold Coast Iron Women Bonnie Hancock taking to the water.
Along with these notable sportspeople the MOB Academy are joined by a total of 15 different businesses and teams rallying behind this great initiative.
MOB students need drivers licenses to be successful in life, work and family, therefore the goal of the 2021 paddle is to establish the MOB Driving School.
After working with over 100 young men, MOB realised a significant disconnect with their students not having the adequate resources and money to fund their driving test, lessons and ability to acquire 100 hours required to enable them to transition to a provisional license due to lack of support and/or vehicle.
All money raised will go towards the MOB driving school and main vehicle to support the young men of the Academy open new doors and opportunities to their future.
