R U Ok Day – Connect, Chat and Move Morning
2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. Encouraging others to get out in the fresh air, moving the body and connecting with others is a great way to not only improve your mood but also your physical and mental health.
As a way to kick start a conversation and to get the body moving this RU OK Day, the City of Gold Coast’s Active & Healthy Program is running a Chat and Move Morning at Kurrawa Park Broadbeach on Thursday the 10 September.
Come connect with us for a springtime morning by the sea and wear your loudest or brightest fluoro or floral active wear to cheer up those around you and to help start a conversation.
Free activities include:
6am – Yoga by the Sea with Maya Bronson
7am – Rebel 5km Run with Olympian Michael Shelly
7am – Walk and Talk for Wellness with Griffith University Counselling students
8am – Tai Chi
Whether it’s getting outdoor and active or engaging in some more creative ways to move, reconnecting over physical activity is a great excuse to catch-up with those you may have lost touch with and could make more of a difference than you know.
