Retire Ready: Legal Tips
Gold Coast seniors can take advantage of free expert information demystifying the options for buying into retirement living at a free event hosted by RetireAustralia’s new The Verge at Burleigh G.C.
The Retire Ready: Legal Tips session on Tuesday, October 29 at 10.30am, features retirement legal specialist Danielle Lim, principal of DSL Law, who will share her top tips for moving into retirement living.
The session will be followed by free workshops next month on downsizing and understanding the financials in retirement living.
RetireAustralia Development Manager Judi Hutchison said Retire Ready information sessions were among the ways RetireAustralia was helping seniors find the home and lifestyle to suit them best.
“While the wide array of retirement living options available can seem overwhelming when trying to make the best decision for your own personal circumstances, it can also be the start of an exciting new chapter of life,’’ Ms Hutchison said.
“This session, which everyone is invited to attend, provides a valuable opportunity for seniors and their families to obtain free tips from a sought-after Queensland legal expert.’’
Ms Lim has spent many years in the seniors living sector and regularly speaks at industry events and seminars on the topic.
“Buying into a retirement village is a lot different from buying a residential home that most people would have done two or three times in their life,’’ Ms Lim said.
“There has been a massive overhaul of laws aimed at improving outcomes for retirement village residents with the last bundle of these changes coming into effect next month.
“It is important to be aware of these new laws and to seek professional help, as well as keep close personal advisors such as family and friends abreast of any decisions you are making.‘’
The free Retire Ready: Legal Tips event will be held in The Verge sales suite at the Burleigh Golf Club, 114 Albion Avenue, Miami. Places are limited and RSVP is essential by visiting the website at http://thevergeburleigh.com.au/events or by phoning 0419 945 915.
