Return to Play – Exhibition Opening Night
We are so busy today between work, family, health and constant stream of social media that life can at times seem overwhelming. We can become engulfed by responsibilities and duties, experiencing and amplified sense of competitiveness and comparison, burdens that didn’t exist when we were children. It’s so easy to succumb to perpetual seriousness and forget to take time to play.
Collaborating for this group exhibition, utilizing interdisciplinary mediums and techniques to transport the audience to a world of nostalgia and no worries, to play. Focusing on creativity, lightheartedness, experimentation and colour the process of making the work was quite playful and became part of the work itself. Presenting manifestations of these whimsical experiences that drove and influenced these pieces of whimsy and wonder. Life becoming art and fantasy melding into reality.
The Return to Play exhibition will run until Friday 4 April.
