RQAS July Art Exhibition
Royal Queensland Art Society Gold Coast
1 July 2018
Tired of Winter and the cool, windy beach? Why not get out of the cold and visit the beachfront gallery of the Royal Queensland Art Society Gold Coast at 25 Broadbeach Boulevard, Broadbeach to view a wonderful array of paintings, sculptures and furniture items by talented local artists. The current, judged exhibition is entitled “Fauna and Flora – the birds and the bees, the flowers and the trees” which consists of an extensive range of creative interpretations of the theme and also, there is the Artists’ Choice display showing an interesting variety of painting styles and subject matter.
During July, there is a magnificent exhibition by the Australasian Porcelain Art Teachers (Queensland) Inc. Their work includes wall art, vases, framed plates and bowls with beautiful, intricate decoration using delicate pastel colours or some have chosen to use rich, vibrant tones.
Also worth exploring, is the gift shop selling hand made cards and smaller paintings which easily fit into hand luggage.
While you are there make sure you wander upstairs to the art studio, where there is a display of wonderful watercolour paintings with special sale prices. These were produced by Annette Raff’s weekly watercolour art class.
The art gallery is situated adjacent to the Broadbeach Surf Lifesavers and 100 metres from the Broadbeach Bowls Club. It is open from 10 to 3 weekdays and 9 to 5 on the weekend.
Entry is free and all artwork is for sale at very reasonable prices.
