Guest Speaker:  Professor Nigel Krauth

‘Q&A with an award-winning writer and educator’

School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science at Griffith University

Nigel Krauth is an award-winning novelist and successful writer in various fields. His publications include four adult novels, two of them national award winners – i.e. the Australian/Vogel Literary Award for his novel Matilda, My Darling and the New South Wales Premier’s Literary Award for the novel JF Was Here – plus three teenage novels. His books have been published in Australia, the USA, the UK and Europe by Allen & Unwin, Penguin, Franklin Watts, Harper & Row and other publishers. He has also published numerous stories, essays, book chapters, articles, anthologies, academic books and a major stage play.

Nigel was a regular book reviewer for Australia’s national newspaper, the Weekend Australian. His novel Matilda, My Darling is one of the works celebrated in Brisbane’s Albert Street Literary Trail (see the plaque at the corner of Albert and Elizabeth Streets). Nigel established the Creative Writing program at Griffith University, Gold Coast in the 1990s as the first set of courses in an Australian university to offer Creative Writing at all levels from preliminary undergraduate entry to PhD. He is currently head of the program. Nigel’s academic research investigates creative writing processes and the teaching of creative writing. He is the co-founding editor of Australia’s leading academic Creative Writing journal: TEXT: Journal of writing and writing courses

South East Writers will develop bench marks and adhere to industry standards. Actors, AudioBooks, Book trailers, Design, eBooks, Distribution, Editing, Films, Illustration & supportive Artwork, Printing, Publishing, Crowd funding for Publishing, Sub editing, Voice Overs and Writing.
Openness, integrity, transparency and active participation will be encouraged at all Membership levels.
