FOR the first time since the 1980s, motorists will be able to fill up their cars for $1 below the advertised price on the Gold Coast on Tuesday, marking the global launch of a revolutionary new fuel savings program.
The discounted fuel offer is to show motorists they can save big dollars at the pump when using the new Go2 Rewards App.
To celebrate the official launch, the Freedom Service Station in Smith Street, Southport, will sell fuel at $1 below the advertised price on Tuesday May 27, for two hours only, from 12.30pm.

Thousands of drivers are expected to cause traffic chaos as they queue along Smith Street to take advantage of the historic offer, with fuel expected to sell for around .60c a litre.
Gold Coasters will be the first to receive the bonanza at the bowser before the Go2 Rewards scheme is rolled out across Australia and then the United States.
After Tuesday’s promotional discount, motorists can upload their shopping receipts from partnered businesses to the App to receive a discount which can then be used at any service station across the country.
Motorists then upload the fuel receipt to the App and the savings are reimbursed to a nominated bank account.
