Gold Coast girl Tara gets engaged to ‘man of her dreams’ on BIP finale

IN an emotional grand finale of the very first season of Bachelor in Paradise Australia, the country witnessed Sam Cochrane get down on one knee and propose to ‘his girl’, Gold Coaster Tara Pavlovic.

The smitten couple, who were fan favourites from the minute their relationship blossomed on the show, left viewers reaching for the tissues when they declared their love for one another on the picturesque island of Fiji on Monday night.

Tara told Sam she loved how he had never tried to change her and promised to never try and change him either. She then offered him a commitment ring as she wanted to be with him forever, and Sam happily accepted it.

And then… the moment all of Australia had been waiting for.

Full of nerves and excitement, Sam’s heart was racing as he prepared for the biggest moment of his life. He got down on one knee and with tears in his eyes, asked Tara to marry him.

Tara was overwhelmed with joy and was also in tears, before bursting out a very happy “Yes”.

Following the show, the newly engaged couple took to social media to thank fans for their support and finally flaunt their relationship. It’s understood Sam has now moved from Sydney to be with his fiance on the Gold Coast.

Speaking with 1029 Hot Tomato on Tuesday, Tara told hosts Flan and Emily Jade with Christo that she was excited to finally be able to plan a big engagement party and be open about her relationship.

Fellow contestant Keira Maguire is also taking the plunge and moving to Melbourne to be with her ‘Prince Charming’ Jarrod Woodgate. The couple expressed their love for one another and shared commitment rings on Monday night’s finale and left paradise dreaming of the day they will turn them into wedding rings.

On last night’s episode, we saw Jake and Megan were not completely sure of their relationship, with Megan making the difficult decision to leave paradise before the commitment ceremony.

As for Ali and Grant, they also left paradise in-love. However, after moving to LA to be with her beau, unfortunately things didn’t work out for the blonde beauty, who, in a shock twist is now Australia’s new Bachelorette.
