UPDATE: Lock down lifted after bomb threat at a Gold Coast high school

Update @10.45am: Police have given the all-clear at Coombabah State High School, after an alleged bomb threat was made.

The school was in lock down for around 90 minutes, while police searched the school.

Students were evacuated to the oval, and late students were sent home from school.


The lock down was lifted around 10.30am.

It’s understood parents weren’t notified by the school that it had gone into lock down.

Earlier @9.45am: Coombabah State High School has reportedly gone in lock down this morning after alleged threats were made.

Concerned parents took to the school’s social media page to ask what’s going on.

Some say their children were evacuated to the oval and told it was not a drill.

It’s also believed students who showed up late to the school were sent home.

Multiple students have texted their parents, saying they haven’t been told what is going on.

Police have confirmed they’re attending the scene.
