Gold Coast home ‘heavily smoke logged’ in early morning blaze

Investigators will head to a home in Carrara today, to try and work out the cause of an early morning fire.

Two fire crews were called to a property along Emerald Island Drive just before 5.00 am, following reports of the blaze.

On arrival, they found the home to be “heavily smoke logged”, a spokesperson confirmed to myGC.

It took them less than an hour to get the scene under control.

Early reports suggest the fire broke out in the kitchen, but crews aren’t sure exactly what caused it.

Investigators will return there later this morning.

Police and paramedics were also at the scene, but no major injuries have been reported just yet.
