Visitors staying at a brand new hotel in Broadbeach will be able to explore the city like a local thanks to a clever guide run through Facebook messenger.
Avani Broadbeach has introduced technology called AvaniMe Keys To The City that connects hotel guests to locals through their key cards.
Guests scan their key card using the Facebook messenger app, and instantly they are able to ask questions to a local about what to get up to in the Broadbeach area.

From the best place to enjoy a cocktail, through to shopping hotspots, guests can receive insider suggestions anywhere and anytime during their stay.
General Marketing Manager Avani Hotels & Resorts Kira Klein said, “Hotel keys are mostly used to keep you in your room, but at Avani we believe guests should be out and about, exploring what is beyond our four walls.”
“We’re thrilled to have brought Avani Hotels & Resorts and AvaniMe to Broadbeach, where we’ll continue to partner with local experts to share the passion and knowledge they have for the place they call home.”
Model Laura Dundovic has also compiled some of her insider tips into an AvaniMe Keys To The City video guide on the hotel’s website.
“It’s been so much fun showing off all the hidden gems I love. Broadbeach has so much to offer and sometimes it’s just knowing the right places to go that really makes your trip amazing,” she said.
