Gold Coast jewellery shop held up at gunpoint in brazen daylight robbery
A Gold Coast jewellery store has been held up at gunpoint in a brazen daylight robbery.
Around 11.30am, police raced to the Gold Coast Highway business at Palm Beach following reports of an armed robbery.
Officers said a man entered the store posing as a customer.
“The man viewed a number of items from the store at which time he produced a handgun and demanded the stock,” police said.
“The 50-year-old female store attendant struck the man with a metal object at which time he grabbed an item and fled the store.”
The man remains at large. He was last seen getting into a silver hatchback which headed north along the Gold Coast Highway.
Investigations are continuing.
