A former Bandido bikie, who is accused of beating his girlfriend to death, has been charged with another murder.
Lionel Patea, 24, was yesterday charged with the murder of missing Gold Coast man, Greg Dufty, after several police raids across the city.
Mr Dufty, 37, disappeared on July 6, just two months before Patea allegedly beat his girlfriend Tara Brown to death in Molendinar.
Patea has been served with a notice to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on November 11.
A New Zealand man, 27, was also arrested Auckland early on Monday for his alleged involvement in the disappearance of Greg Dufty.
He is being extradited to Australia and is set to face Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Police have long suspected Mr Dufty met with foul play.
Several other men were interviewed about Mr Dufty’s disappearance although no further charges have been laid.
Investigations continue and police are appealing for anyone with information on the location of Mr Dufty’s body to contact them.
“Certainly we would dearly love to be able to locate the body,” Detective Inspector Dave Hutchinson said.
“The fact that somebody’s been charged makes no difference, we still believe there are people out there that know where the body is.”
