Gold Coast man charged with steroid importation

POLICE have today charged a Gold Coast man with supplying, possessing and importing steroids into the city.

Detectives from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad, working in cooperation with the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service, raided a local business where it is alleged a quantity of testosterone and a mixing agent was seized.

It’s believed the substances were imported from China. Further raids on a Broadbeach address allegedly located additional phials of steroids.

A 28-year-old Broadbeach man was charged with one count of knowingly or recklessly importing tier one goods without approval, two counts of supplying dangerous drugs and four counts of possessing dangerous drugs,

He is expected to appear before the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
