An elderly Gold Coast man has been killed in a crash in Queensland’s Gladstone region.
Emergency crews were called to Baffle Creek around 11.10am on Saturday, following reports a Holden Commodore sedan and a Nissan X-Trail wagon had collided outside shops on Coast Road.
One of the passengers in the sedan, an 84-year-old Coomera man, died at the scene despite desperate attempts by paramedics to save him.

Two other men in the vehicle, aged 53 and 62, were taken to Bundaberg Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.
While the driver of the wagon, a 50-year-old woman, was also transported to hospital where she was treated for shock.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
They’re appealing for any witnesses to the crash, or anyone with dash cam vision of either vehicle from 10:30am to 11:10am yesterday in the Coast Road area, to contact them.
