A hardworking Ormeau man is planning a celebratory cruise with his wife after winning division one in last night’s Lotto draw.
The man realised he had won the division one prize of $666,734.67 when he checked his entry last night before going to bed, and woke up his wife to break the happy news.
Speaking to a Golden Casket official this morning to confirm his win, the happy man confessed he was still stunned.

“We’re still in shock a bit here!” he said.
“I always check my entry before I go to bed. I couldn’t really believe it. I got a little bit of sleep last night!
“My wife was asleep so I had to wake her up and tell her. But she didn’t mind!”
The Ormeau winner was one of three division one winners nationally in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3661 on Wednesday 17 May 2017. Two winners were from Queensland, while the other winner was from New South Wales.
With the win still sinking in, the man confessed he hadn’t decided what he would do with his windfall, but said an overseas holiday was on the cards.
“This win makes a big difference to us at the moment. It has come at a good time for us,” he said.
“We’d been thinking about doing a cruise at some stage before this win happened, but maybe it will happen a bit sooner now.
“We were thinking of a Pacific island cruise, but we might look a bit further now!”
The lucky man purchased his winning entry online.
