Gold Coast man’s remains found a few hours north

POLICE have confirmed remains found a few hours north of Brisbane in mid April this year have been identified as missing Gold Coast man Shaun Barker.

The Robina local was reported missing by his family on January 14, 2014 after being last positively seen at a service station at Broadbeach on December 10, 2014.

A skull was found by forestry workers off Cooloola Coast Road in Tin Can Bay on April 10, 2014 which was forensically examined and identified as that of Mr Barker.

Detectives are eager to hear from any members of the public who have knowledge of Mr Barker’s movements particularly on the days leading up to December 10, 2013 and post that date.

Of particular interest to police is Mr Barker’s Blue Kia Rio with Queensland Registration 518 TBV, which is yet to be located.
