Gold Coast McDonald’s evacuated after car catches fire in drive-thru
A McDonald’s restaurant on the Gold Coast has been forced to evacuate after a car burst into flames at the drive-thru window.
The fiery scenes unfolded at a McDonald’s in Nerang at around 10.30 on Friday night.
Hungry customers were evacuated from the restaurant and drivers forced to reverse back out of the drive-thru while fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze and stop the flames from spreading.
The drive-thru remained closed after the fire was extinguished while the scene was examined and the burnt-out car removed.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
